One of the most important things I've learned from the personal finance community is the idea of having multiple income streams. This diversifies where your money is coming from. This is especially important in the current economy we're facing. You never know when you're going to find yourself without a job. Some different income streams may include a part-time job, making money online with a blog, doing surveys, or writing articles for hubpages. Anything that generates money for you is considered an income stream. By having multiple streams of income you can alleviate some of the burden that comes from a job loss. I know some people who were so successful with multiple streams of income they quit there day jobs. However, this is not the norm. But you can make a good side income with some extra work and effort.
One of the easiest ways I've found to make money is through the site Ehow. Ehow is an online community who've come together to teach you how to do just about anything. Whether you want to find out how to get girls to notice you, how to save money on your Dish Network bill, or how to implement Dave Ramsey's debt snowball method, there's a how to. The great thing about Ehow is it's absolutely free. It just takes a minute to sign up, and then you're ready to start writing. You then earn money whenever someone clicks on an ad displayed on one of your Ehow articles.
I wish I could say I've made a fortune from this site, but the truth is I haven't made more than a few dollars. However, I know other's who are making hundreds of dollars each month with this site. The key is how much work you're willing to put in. The more articles you write, the greater potential to earn money. Also some articles will get more views and clicks than others. You need to find the niche that's making money. The greatest thing about the site is your articles continue to make money over time. So if you dedicate yourself to writing 50 articles this month, then do nothing else ever, you will still see money coming in every month.
