If you recall, last week I said I might have some big news coming this week. The news is here, I'm going to be a dad. Yes, that's right, my wife is having a baby. We have been trying for about 3 months now, and 2 pregnancy tests confirmed it at the end of our vacation. My wife goes to the doctor on Thursday to find out how far along she is. We're very, very excited about the news. God has been very good to us. Both, my sister, and my wife's sister are pregnant as well, so it won't be long until we have babies running around everywhere.
As far as the financial ramifications, they're going to be pretty drastic. I tried to hold off as long as I could to get as many debts eliminated as possible, but my wife and everyone else convinced me to give in. We're in a good financial situation right now, a lot better than most people, so I know that we can handle the added expense. We'll just have to put off some of our wants, like new furniture and making extra payments to our student loans. The part I'm worried about is handling the extra stress and emotions of being new parents. Changing diapers and getting no sleep is the scary part. But from what I've heard, having a baby is totally worth it. It's a joy unlike any other. The next few months are going to be a wild ride. I hope you'll come along with me, because I'll need all the help I can get.

Awww! Congratulations!!!
Congratulations. Just remember sleep is overrated. :-)
My wife and I had twin girls about 12 weeks ago, and I can't believe how fast the time goes.
The expenses mount as well, but you'll get through it, because God always provides a way. We were blessed in dozens of ways financially by God through the process, especially when we didn't have to pay a penny of the $108,000 in NICU charges or $50,000 for my wife's week in the hospital (she was admitted several days early due to some problems). :-)
